Wedding preparations are underway at the Khan household as actor Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan, is set to marry her long-time boyfriend Nupur Shikhare on January 3. Images of the festivities at Aamir and Reena’s Mumbai residences have surfaced online, showcasing the vibrant decorations with lights and flowers.
In a recent Instagram story, Ira provided glimpses of the wedding preparations, including a video of guests enjoying a Maharashtrian-style dinner, with Aamir’s ex-wife Kiran Rao also partaking in the meal. Another picture featured Ira, Nupur, actor Mithila Palkar, and others, with Ira captioning the story, “The wedding festivities have begun.” Ira donned a red saree with a minimal makeup look, while Nupur chose a red kurta paired with a golden jacket and black pyjamas.
Ira and Nupur got engaged on November 18, with the engagement ceremony attended by close friends and family members, including Aamir’s ex-wives Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, as well as actor Fatima Sana Shaikh. Ira had previously announced her wedding date on Instagram, confirming the ceremony’s occurrence on January 3, 2024.
Aamir Khan, who shares daughter Ira with his ex-wife Reena Dutta, remarried Kiran Rao in 2005. The couple welcomed their first son, Azad, through surrogacy in 2011. Aamir was previously married to Reena Dutta, with whom he has a daughter, Ira, and a son, Junaid, from their marriage that ended in 2002.
