Mangaluru Girl Sets World Record with 7-Day Bharatanatyam Performance

Remona Evette Pereira, a 20-year-old student from Mangaluru, has set a new world record by dancing Bharatanatyam for 170 continuous hours

From July 21 to July 28, 2025, Remona performed tirelessly with just a 15-minute break every three hours—over 7 days of devotion and strength

She broke the earlier record of 127 hours, earning a place in the Golden Book of World Records and making India proud

Remona began her journey with prayers to Lord Ganesha and ended with homage to Goddess Durga, blending dance and spirituality

Her performance showcased mudras, facial expressions, footwork, and traditional rhythms, capturing the soul of Bharatanatyam

With full support from Guru Dr. Shrividya Muralidhar, St Aloysius College, and medical staff, Remona stayed strong throughout

The record-breaking dance drew praise from cultural leaders, politicians, and the public, celebrating her dedication to Indian heritage
