“Congress Will Form Government in Haryana”: Bhupinder Hooda Remains Optimistic Despite Trends

As the vote counting for the Haryana assembly elections progresses, former Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda expressed unwavering confidence on Tuesday, asserting that the party would form the government in Haryana by a significant margin.

“No doubt, Congress will secure a substantial victory. The party will decide on the chief ministerial candidate. Congress will achieve its own majority, and the credit goes to all party leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and, most importantly, to the people of Haryana,” Hooda stated.

As of the latest trends reported by the Election Commission at 11:10 AM, the BJP is leading with 49 seats, while Congress has secured leads in 35 seats. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are leading in one seat each, with Independents and smaller parties leading in four seats.

Despite exit polls predicting a Congress victory, the current trend suggests that the BJP is on track for a hat-trick win in the state assembly elections.

In the latest updates, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is leading in the Ladwa constituency by a margin of 840 votes over Congress candidate Mewa Singh. Meanwhile, Hooda is leading in the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi seat with a significant margin of 16,823 votes over his nearest BJP rival, Manju.

BJP leader Anil Vij commented that the people of Haryana are sending a clear message to Congress. “We can see the people of Haryana teaching Congress a lesson. This morning, they (Congress) opened their ‘Jhooth ki dukaan’ (store of lies). Within Congress, there are individuals who want Hooda to lose, and they were the ones celebrating prematurely,” Vij told.

BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla also spoke to ANI, indicating that the BJP is poised to form the government in Haryana for the third consecutive time, highlighting strong public support for the party’s performance. “Regardless of the results, it is evident that this reflects the victory of the EVM, the Election Commission, and India’s democratic traditions. I hope those who celebrated after seeing the exit polls won’t blame the EVM once they see the official results. Our government has been formed twice in Haryana and is on track to do so again, demonstrating the public’s trust in the BJP’s work,” he stated.

Chief Minister Nayab Saini expressed confidence that the final results would favor the BJP, stating, “The BJP has made significant contributions to Haryana’s development over the past ten years. We have worked with integrity for all sections of society. Our government will continue to prioritize development in Haryana, and the BJP will form the government for the third time, unlike Congress, which has been riddled with corruption.”
