Researchers from the University of Adelaide and the University of Melbourne have found that online payments have influenced people to spend more due to removal of physical exchange of money
The experts studied by analyzing 71 previously published papers and closely observing how people spend their money in 17 different countries
They suggested that carrying cash can be favourable because it encourages better self-control
Experts have found that the effortlessly spending has led people to be more eager to purchase luxurious items, of which some are often unnecessary
It is also noticed that online payments didn't influence tips or donations as notably as cash once did
