On June 11, the Government of India has appointed two seasoned politicians, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh and Shri Pabitra Margherita, as Ministers of State for External Affairs.
Their experience will bring fresh perspectives to the Ministry, which continues to be led by Dr. S. Jaishankar in his second term.
Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, a fifth-term parliamentarian , has been appointed MoS for External Affairs and MoS for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change.
Shri Pabitra Margherita, is known for his extensive work in rural development and education. He regularly conducts workshops for farmers and has a strong commitment to environmental issues.
He served as the BJP Assam unit's spokesperson, political secretary to Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, and head of BJP's social media cell in Assam.
As MoS, Mr. Singh and Mr. Margherita will support India's foreign policy on climate change, trade, and regional security.
