In the Yeti Airlines plane crash that occurred on 15 January in the Pokhara region of Nepal, earlier this month 69 bodies were found and two were still missing, but on Wednesday rescuers recovered one more body of the two missing persons. Now only one body is remaining, and the total number of bodies found has reached 71.

The Nepal Civil Aviation Authority stated, “One more body has been found among the two missing persons in the Yeti Airlines plane crash that occurred in Pokhara on January 15, 2023. The total number of dead bodies has reached 71. It is reported that the search for the remaining one is ongoing. Search and Rescue Coordination Center.” 

Earlier on Sunday, a total of 72 passengers boarded the Yeti Airlines plane, which included five Indians, and crashed into a river gorge while landing. 

Following the crash, the Nepal Army also handed over the flight data recorder. Earlier on Sunday, minutes before touch-down, the twin-engine ATR 72 aircraft from Kathmandu crashed in Pokhara. In the crash, all the passengers lost their lives, and so far 71 bodies have been recovered. 

However, to mourn the loss of lives in the air crash, Nepal’s Yeti Airlines canceled regular flights on Monday.
