The 5th Chitra Bharati Film Festival commenced on a high note with the showcasing of 8 Short Films, 9 Documentaries, 13 Children Films, and 17 Campus Professional (Shorts Films).

The three-day film festival, hosted at the Red Bishop Complex of the Haryana Tourism Department, featured four specialized hi-tech theaters for screening a diverse array of films over the next two days. Bharatiya Chitra Sadhna will award a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh, a citation, and a trophy to the best 29 films during the closing ceremony.

The inaugural day of the festival saw the presence of numerous cinema stars who personally critiqued the films based on their own criteria. A total of 47 films were screened on the first day, starting from 10:30 in the morning until 5:30 in the evening.

Each auditorium at the venue showcased different categories, with Audi-1 featuring Shorts Films, Audi-2 presenting Documentaries, Audi-3 screening Children Films, and Audi-4 focusing on Campus Professional (Shorts Films).

Two master classes were conducted during the day, with the first class featuring Dr. Chandra Prakash Dwivedi, the renowned producer and director of the iconic serial Chanakya, along with Sandeep Bhutoriya and Anant Vijay sharing insights into the film industry. The second master class, themed ‘Story to Cinema,’ was conducted by Vivek Agnihotri, the acclaimed director of “The Kashmir Files.”

The fifth edition of the Chitra Bharati Film Festival, organized by Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana in Panchkula, marked a significant moment as film screenings commenced in four different theaters. This event witnessed the participation of the people of Haryana, making it a monumental occasion.

A total of 663 films in 25 languages from 19 states were submitted for the festival, and the screening of the selected 133 films will continue until February 25th, positioning them for potential awards. The closing ceremony, scheduled for the evening of March 25th, will unveil the trophy holders among the 29 award winners, concluding the festival with anticipation and excitement.
