Audiences are used to seeing some amazing romantic pairs on screen that make them believe in the power of true love yet again, but 2021 gave a lot of dynamic duos on screen that weren’t romantically involved but their chemistry and camaraderie is what set their projects apart. The trust in each other that these duos showed is what made them connect with the audience and here are five such duos that stole the show in 2021.
PARINEETI CHOPRA AND MANAV KAUL
Every great person needs someone to identify that greatness in them and guide and help them to reach the zenith of their potential. In the story of ace shuttler Saina Nehwal, it was her first coach, and that equation was excellently portrayed by Parineeti and Manav on screen in the film ‘Saina’. The trust and belief they showed in each other as their characters was so authentic that the audience couldn’t help but root for them.
MANOJ BAJPAYEE AND SHARIB HASHMI
‘Family Man 2’ became a phenomenon on its release receiving widespread acclaim, but what won hearts all around above anything was the camaraderie between Srikant and JK. They were always pulling each other’s leg but were also by the other one’s side in the time of need. Today, it’s impossible to imagine Srikant without JK or vice versa. They are fun & silly yet dangerous and that’s what makes this team special.
KRITI SANON AND PANKAJ TRIPATHI
A driver and a dancer form an unlikely friendship when the latter decides to become a surrogate to a foreign couple in ‘Mimi’, and the way that friendship and trust developed stole the audience’s hearts. They were always at each other’s side in thick and thin, and together they made a situation that could have been worse, so beautiful. With Kriti and Pankaj at the helm of it, it just came out so beautifully and Mimi and Bhanu will go down in history as one of the most memorable duos.
VICKY KAUSHAL AND AMOL PARASHAR
Amol might have had a limited screen time in ‘Sardar Udham’ but the power of his Bhagat Singh’s equation with Vicky’s Udham was such that throughout the film one could sense him being omnipresent. Bhagat Singh became Udham’s inspiration, his confidante and role model, and the duo of Vicky and Amol portrayed that beautifully. This duo will surely go down in history for that impeccable portrayal of friendship and companionship that they showed.
DHANUSH AND ASHISH VERMA
In a film that stars some renowned names like Dhanush, Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan, it’s hard to make your presence noticed but Ashish Verma did that impressively in ‘Atrangi Re’. His friendship with Dhanush’s Visu was one of the highlights of the film. It had its fun and quippy moments too, but the way Ashish’s MS supported Visu and his quest for love of Sara’s Rinku throughout, even in the unlikeliest and weirdest of circumstances, made them friendship goals, something that the audience took away after watching the film.
