The demand for housing in Bengaluru, India’s IT hub, has reached unprecedented heights. For many, securing a home, whether through purchase or rent, has become a significant financial burden. A recent post on X offers a glimpse into the skyrocketing property prices. A woman shared a post seeking a tenant for her 2BHK apartment, listing the rent as ₹43,000 and the deposit as ₹2.5 lakh.

“We are moving out of our current 2BHK in Koramangala and looking for someone who’d be interested in taking it up! Want someone who will be willing to take it as it is (with all the furnishings). Rent 43k, deposit 2.5L, all furniture additional costs. DM for details!” wrote X user Leesha Agarwal. She also included four pictures showcasing different parts of her apartment.

Since its posting, the viral message has garnered over 140,000 views, with the count steadily rising. Additionally, it has received more than 500 likes. Reactions to the post have been varied. Some users tagged others to notify them about the apartment, while many expressed shock at the high rent and deposit.

X Users React to the Post

“Good house. But 2.5 lakh deposit for a house in Koramangala? Might as well start selling organs on the black market to make up for this,” joked one user. Another commented, “2.5 L deposit WTF.”

A third user remarked, “Deposit 2.5 L. Mazak hai kya BLR city (Is it a joke Bengaluru),” while a fourth said, “43k rent for 2bhk that’s insane.”

Previously, another post by a Bengaluru resident about her Uber expenses also left people astonished. “I can’t believe my Uber expenses are more than half the amount I pay as rent in Bengaluru. For me, this has got to be the most useful feature by CRED till date!” the woman wrote, sharing a screenshot of her transactions. According to the screenshot, her 74 Uber rides amounted to ₹16,600.
