4 KHALISTANI TERRORISTS ARRESTED IN HARYANA, EXPLOSIVES RECOVERED

In the preliminary interrogation, the arrested persons revealed that they were working for Pakistan-based Khalistani gangster-turned-terrorist Harwinder Singh aka Rinda.

In a well-coordinated operation, Punjab Police on Thursday has successfully averted a possible terrorist attack by giving a hot chase of over 300 Km and getting four suspects arrested with the recovery of three IEDs packed in a metallic case (2.5 kg each) and one pistol along with ammunition.

The accused persons were identified as Gurpreet Singh, Amandeep Singh, and Parminder Singh, the trio of residents of village Vinjoke in Zira, Ferozepur; and Bhupinder Singh of Village Bhatian in Ludhiana were arrested from Karnal by the Haryana Police following the inputs from the Punjab Police. They all associated with Khalistani Gangster of Pakistan Harwinder Rinda, police said.

Divulging details, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab VK Bhawra said that Central Agency earlier shared an input that some suspects, who may be carrying explosive material and weapons were moving in the border districts of Fazilka and Ferozepur.

Later, police teams led by Commandant PAP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh and SHO SSOC Fazilka Satinderdeep Singh Brar along with teams from Central Agency were on a manhunt on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday to nab these suspects, he said, adding that these teams had jointly identified suspected locations in the districts of Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot and SAS Nagar.

The DGP said that the suspects were found to be moving in the area of Ferozepur and later they started moving in a White Innova vehicle DL1VB7869 towards Ludhiana.

“The suspects further took the National Highway and started moving towards Ambala, when acting promptly, Punjab Police shared the development with Haryana Police, which had managed to intercept the vehicle in Karnal and arrest the accused persons with the IEDs,” he said.

Notably, Rinda, a notorious gangster active in Punjab, Chandigarh, Maharashtra, and Haryana is a history-sheeter and wanted by the Punjab Police in heinous crimes including murder, contract killing, robbery, and extortion.
