So far 3600 people have lost their lives due to covid 19 in Himachal Pradesh, 21 children have lost both their parents and are now orphans, while close to 500 children have been lost either mother or father. Himachal is among those states that have suffered severely due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to the pandemic, lakhs of people across the country have died and Himachal has also lost over 3600 people untimely. During the Covid-19 pandemic, 21 innocent children in Himachal were deprived of the love of both mother and father. Over 500 children lost their families.

Himachal Education Minister Govind Singh Thakur said that Covid-19 has left 21 students of the state with deep wounds for life. The havoc of the Covid has made serval children orphans. There are 280 children in 299 government and private schools who have lost either mother or father. It has been decided by the government that now it will wipe the tears of these children. The government has prepared a master plan to help needy children to live their life in a healthy environment.  

The government will bear the full cost of all these children. Thakur said that the education department is ready to bear the education and other expenses of these children, who have lost their parents and families. Many of the orphaned children are still in the middle of their schooling and are studying in private and government institutions. Thakur has instructed the principals of private schools to waive the fees of such students. Instructions have been given to the Deputy Directors of Education of the districts to provide all facilities for the children as per the order of the Supreme Court.

It is important to mention that the Supreme Court has ordered that the government should make all arrangements for the education of the orphaned children due to the pandemic from upbringing to education.

The Court has also said that their studies should not get suffered due to the lack of resources and they must continue their studies. The Court has asked the state governments and Centre to provide financial assistance to such children.
