Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha on Wednesday lashed out at the YSR Congress Party and the Biju Janata Dal for supporting the Centre’s services bill, claiming that they must have done so out of necessity.
“There must have been some compulsion, people don’t turn unfaithful for no reason,” Chadha said.
The AAP leader also issued a warning to the Opposition parties, stating that if the centre is successful in advancing the law in Delhi, they will do the same in all other states that are not governed by the BJP.
Raghav Chadha’s response came after the government tabled the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023, in the Lok Sabha yesterday under loud protests from Opposition MPs.
The bill, which grants the lieutenant governor final authority over the transfer and posting of city government officials, will replace an ordinance that was issued on May 19.
The Supreme Court’s verdict on May 11 gave the elected AAP dispensation control over services, including the transfer and posting of bureaucrats of the Delhi government.
