India has reported 15,144 new Covid-19 cases and 181 deaths in the past 24 hours. With these figures, the overall case tally has touched 1,05,57,985, with 2,08,826 active cases and 1,52,274 deaths. Meanwhile, over 17,000 people were vaccinated against the virus across six states on Day 2 of the nationwide drive.
Maharashtra’s Covid-19 tally rose to 19,90,759 with the addition of 3,081 fresh cases. With 50 new deaths reported during the day, the state’s fatality count rose to 50,438. Of the 50 fatalities, 21 were from the past 48 hours. A total of 2,342 patients were discharged from hospitals, which took the total number of recovered persons in Maharashtra to 18,86,469. There are 52,653 active cases in Maharashtra at present.
The national capital reported 246 new Covid-19 cases and eight deaths in the last 24 hours. Delhi’s Covid-19 tally stands at 6.32 lakh, including 10,746 fatalities. About 6.19 lakh patients have recovered.
Madhya Pradesh›s Covid-19 tally rose to 2,51,578 on Sunday with the addition of 355 fresh cases. With two more people succumbing to the viral infection, the overall death toll in MP went up to 3,753. Rajasthan reported 261 new Covid-19 cases, 496 recoveries, and 1 death in the last 24 hours. Total cases stand at 3,15,181, while total recoveries have been recorded at 3,07,384. The death toll climbed to 2,747. Active cases currently stand at 5,050 in the state.
Andhra Pradesh reported 161 fresh Covid-19 cases, 251 recoveries and one death in the last 24 hours. Chittoor district reported the highest number with 52 cases while Kadapa logged zero during the day.
Telangana›s Covid-19 tally climbed to 2,91,666 with 299 fresh cases, while the death toll rose to 1,577 as two more people succumbed to the disease.
Mizoram reported eight new Covid-19 cases, taking the state›s tally to 4,322. Of the eight cases, seven were reported from Aizawl district and one from Kolasib district.
Kerala reported 5,005 new Covid-19 cases, 4,408 recoveries, and 21 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total numbers of active and recovered cases in the state are 68,991 and 7,75,176, respectively.
