The Jaipur Literary Festival 2024 is set to take place at Hotel Clarks Amer in the capital from February 1 to 5. In a press conference held on Tuesday, detailed information about the 17th edition of the festival was provided. The event will witness the participation of over 550 authors, speakers, and artists from around the world, presenting in 16 Indian and 8 international languages.
Indian languages include Assamese, Awadhi, Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Kurukh, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Sanskrit, Tamil, Toda, Urdu, and Bajjika (Lamani).
Speaking to the media, Sanjoy K. Roy, Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, said, “We welcome our new strategic partners who will contribute to the prosperity of literature and art.”
“This year, the Jaipur Literary Festival is ready with thought-provoking themes and splendid presentations. It will host 550 speakers and artists. We invite all readers in Jaipur to come and be a part of this important festival of words,” Roy added.
Enclave, Jaipur Bookmark (JBM), the largest publication in South Asia, will also share the stage, organizing a five-day conclave alongside the festival. This event will involve specialists from the publishing industry discussing all crucial aspects related to publishing. JBM will also unveil the Rights Catalog, featuring descriptions of books in various languages and their available rights.
When asked about any special programs related to Lord Rama, a festival spokesperson mentioned that every year, they commemorate Lord Rama, often working on various aspects of the Ram Charit Manas. This year, a specific translation of Ram Charit Manas will be released during the festival. Additionally, several other programs are planned, including exclusive workshops for youngsters. They will visit 110 schools for sessions, and a venue named “Nand Ghar” will be established within the festival for youth workshops.
