Kidnapped Tsinoy now
out of Negros Occidental?
By Francis Allan L. Angelo
POLICE in Negros Occidental said the businessman who was abducted in Bago City last week may not be in the province anymore.
C/Insp. Jefferson Descallar, spokesman of the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO), said the silver-grey Toyota Grandia used in the kidnapping of Jordan Chua was seen in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. The Grandia served as the getaway car of four armed suspects who snatched Chua at Brgy. Dulao, Bago City March 5.
The police earlier said that the kidnappers may have escaped towards the town of Don Salvador Benedicto which is a possible exit point towards Negros Oriental and Cebu provinces.
The PNP’s Task Force Chua claimed that the suspects are former Kuratong Baleleng Gang members.
Descallar said the suspects posed as members of the Presidential
Anti-Smuggling Group (PASG) and confronted Chua days before he was
kidnapped.
The police has released the facial sketch of one of the suspects which
was based on the description of the security guard who saw the
confrontation between Chua and the alleged PASG members.
C/Supt. Isagani Cuevas, PNP regional director, said the Philippine Anti
Crime Emergency Response (PACER) and Criminal Investigation and
Detection Group (CIDG) in Camp Crame have joined the investigation.
Since they consider the incident as a possible kidnap-for-ransom case, the PACER is now considered the lead agency in the case.
“Our policemen in Negros Occidental continue to help by monitoring the
possible hiding place and the vehicles used by the suspects. We have a
case tracker team that is doing the surveillance and intelligence
gathering work,” Cuevas said.
Cuevas said they have not received any information if the suspects demanded ransom from the victim’s family.
Chua is the owner of Jordan Fishing based in Zamboanga City and vice
president of Southern Philippines Deep Sea Fishing, Inc. which their
family owns.
