MANILA - Action star and “Pilipinas Win na Win” host Robin Padilla expressed his happiness that his former sweetheart Kris Aquino gave him the go signal to express his special feelings for actress-host Mariel Rodriguez, who is also part of the newest hit noontime show.

“Mismong si Ms. Kris ang nagbibigay sa amin ng kalayaan na iparamdam ko kay Mariel kung ano ang nararamdaman ko,” Padilla said.

Mariel: Robin is not
sleeping in my condo

MANILA - Actress Mariel Rodriguez has belied the rumor that actor Robin Padilla is already sleeping in her condominium unit.

In a press conference for her upcoming horror film “Cinco,” Rodriguez pointed out that Padilla would not do such thing because he is a gentleman.

“Sobrang gentleman ni Robin Padilla, sobra. Walang mali sa kanya. Sobra niyang gentleman so hindi siya ‘yong type na [ganoon],” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez also denied reports that Padilla would drive her to ABS-CBN in Quezon City from her house for her hosting job on “Wowowee.”

‘Eclipse’ takes $30 million
bite from midnight box office

NEW YORK – Vampire romance has become hotter -- if you can believe the story.

That seems to be the consensus by U.S. critics for the third episode of teen vampire saga “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” which debuted on Wednesday to a record-breaking $30 million box office in screenings just after midnight.

North American ticket sales beat predecessor “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” with $26.3 million and are the most for any movie’s midnight screenings, according to tracker Hollywood.com Box Office.

Critics said the movie boosted its romantic storyline, but the overall film was not entirely satisfying due to poor acting and execution, according to a consensus of reviews posted Wednesday.
