Be responsible dog owners

SAN JOSE, Antique - The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (PROVET) called on dog owners and local government units to help in the anti-rabies vaccination program.

Anti-rabies vaccines for dogs are given free since the province is implementing the Rabies Free Visayas Project supported by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This is a five-year project which aims to eradicate canine rabies in the region.

As of July , PROVET in coordination with the authorized vaccinator of the local government units has vaccinated 16,093 dogs in different municipalities in the province or 42 percent of the target which is 38,290.
