BACOLOD City – The British national who was gunned down in front of his wife in Sipalay night of September 6 may have been executed by hired killers, said Sipalay City mayor Oscar Montilla.
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Guardian, Montilla disclosed that as of press time elements from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Special Operations Group are conducting the investigation on the brutal slay of Anthony Nicolas.
The victim from London was in his 60’s. He was the owner of the Hi Joe Beach Resort. He succumbed to seven gunshot wounds in the head and various parts of his body.

Rape suspects fall
BAGO CITY – Police collared two rape suspects here Monday morning.
C/Insp. Rico Santotome Jr. of the Bago City PNP said they arrested Nicanor Carlos, 33, and Pael Villamor, 27, both of Hacienda Loiusiana in Brgy. Ma-ao.
Carlos and Villamor are facing rape charges in the sala of Regional Trial Court Judge Frances Guanzon.
No bail was recommended for the two suspects.
Santotome said Carlos is ranked No. 9 while Villamor is No. 10 on the Top 10 list of wanted persons here
Supt. Melchor Coronel, Bago City PNP chief, commended the arresting officers led by SPO2 Ramon Garalda, SPO1 Patricio Panhilason, PO3 Jimmy Potestad and PO2 Archibald Villados.

BACOLOD City – Philippine Army chief, Major Gen. Arturo Ortiz declared that Negros island is one of the areas in the priority list for clearing as far as insurgency is concerned.
Ortiz was here during the weekend and visited the 3rd Infantry Division headed by Major Gen. Vicente Porto as well as the 301st Brigade in Dingle, Iloilo, 303rd Brigade in Tanjay, Negros Oriental and the 303rd Brigade based in Brgy Minuyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
Ortiz together with Porto also conducted an aerial inspection of the Brgy Bug-ang detachment in Toboso town which was raided by about 30 New People’s Army rebels who disguised themselves as Criminal Investigation and Detection Group operatives.

BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental police provincial director, S/Supt. Manuel Felix said he is just following orders the reason why he continues as NOPPO director for Negros Occidental.
Felix issued this statement amid the call of Negros Occidental governor Alfredo Marañon on PNP Chief Jesus Versoza to implement the order designating S/Supt. Primitivo Tabujara as the new NOPPO director.
“I received orders of a status quo from the chief of personnel of the PNP regional headquarters” Felix told The Daily Guardian.
